Edwina F. Welch Cross Cultural Center Leadership Endowed Award

ELIGIBILITY: This award is for outstanding undergraduate students who have demonstrated skill and passion in developing cross-cultural community, intersectional and self-reflective work both on and off campus. This award is intended for student leaders and activists at UC San Diego whose activism brings into discussion intersectional identities, social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
*Sophomore or junior status for 2024-25 academic year.
*2.50 or higher GPA.
*Letter of recommendation from an academic staff or community member that can expand on the student’s activism, projects or research.
*Resume, curriculum via and/or creative representations of qualifications (poetry, videos, expressive arts, performance, etc.)
*Essay that reflects on the following quote and how it relates to their campus activism.
* “There are many, many different kinds of intersectional exclusions, not just black women, but other women of color. Not just people of color, but people with disabilities, immigrants, LGBTQ people and indigenous people”.
